Carlotta – Gstaad Yacht Club Centenarian of the Year
Choosing a centenarian of the year is always a difficult task to ask of anyone, but 1,400 of you voted in this category, whose other nominees were the Thames sailing barge Edme (1898), the open coble Madeleine Isabella (1912), the little gaff cutter Bonita (1888), Captain Oates’ yawl Saunterer (1900) and the Arch Logan gaff cutter Ariki (1904).
As it happened, the popular winner was Carlotta, also winner of our Restored Sailing Vessel over 40ft category. And, as chance would have it, runner-up in this category was runner-up in that one too – Ariki! Both categories were among the most closely fought this year.
